Summary0000135: Cert generation/download with "konqueror"
DescriptionHi all!

It seems as if (client) cert generation with (Linux') konqueror is not working. :-(

I tried with konq. 3.5.0 (from KDE 3.5) and with 2048 and 1024 bit cert key sizes. Also tried different passwords (with and /wo special chars, different lenghts and so no). And tried with different email addresses.

The error message from the CAcert is always the same:
"Wir haben keine gültige Zertifikat-Anfrage (CSR) bekommen"
(Didn't receive any valid CSR.)

Anyone knows what's up with konqueror support?

TIA. Salut, Joerg

As of February 2006, Konqueror cannot generate certificate request.

You've to generate the cert with IE/Firefox export the signed cert into a .p12 file and import it into Konqueror.

Better sending a feature request to the very interesting Konqueror browser :)

This is a lack of code in Konq, it isn't capable of generating client certificates and you will need to use firefox or openssl to send a valid CSR to the website.
