We currently have Paypal links in the following places https://secure.cacert.org/index.php -> Start page with Paypal and Westpac information https://secure.cacert.org/index.php?id=5 -> lost password reset option with Paypal ... is this even possible at the moment? https://secure.cacert.org/index.php?id=13 -> separate donations page https://secure.cacert.org/index.php?id=21 -> payment information for members I think we should consolidate this into a single place. We need to decide what to do about the paid password reset option. It would be beneficial to also check in other places (Wiki, blog, ... maybe more?) whether there is old information and who could correct it. Blog seems to have the most recent information from my point of view. |

@alkas thanks for gathering the information (again?) can you answer whether this lost password reset with Paypal has been supported/used in recent years? I tend to remove this option completely or replace it with a different payment option (which one?) as Paypal should not be used anymore as far as I understood. |

Please see https://wiki.cacert.org/Software/Assessment/20110920-S-A-MiniTOP?highlight=%28password%29%7C%28reset%29%7C%28PayPal%29 and you will find the sentence "password reset w/ Assurance replaces pwd reset thru paypal"; and PayPal is mentioned in articles where concerns with paying 15€ in some cases; I never met such case except when the user notified me that he has paid 15€ some way (possibly PayPal and stated a paying number from PayPal), evrytime I believed them; in present, I give them clues for they can use the standard method via CAcert website. |

I cleaned the wiki some months ago. Most of the remaining are pages of arbitration and minutes. |

To summarize the discussion so far: - we want to remove all links to Paypal - we want to show both the Swiss SEPA bank acount as well as the Westpac account in a small table or similar representation - we want a single file with the banking information that is included at the other locations - we remove the option to reset a password via Paypal and point to https://wiki.cacert.org/FAQ/LostPasswordOrAccount instead - system support for password recovery with assurance as written in https://wiki.cacert.org/Support/PasswordRecoverywithAssurance (under Part II - Procedure w/ System integration) is not part of the fix implementation, but a new feature that will come later @L10N @alkas is this summary correct? After having removed Paypal with this bug we could also close https://bugs.cacert.org/view.php?id=1565 because it described removing Paypal by L10N as well. |

I too agree that it seems "pw reset w paypal" is an old and not current method, and should not be used anymore, and anywhere it is written, it should either be commented that it's not a valid method anymore, or simply removed, perhaps only be kept in some minutes where it was talked about, no not in any places where it is discussed "how to reset password". |
