There is no need for a cancel button, simply hit the back button in the browser, or click on a different link...

The interface should always provide the user with a proper way out of a situation. Just assuming that the user knows that clicking somewhere or back will cancel a process is not always enough.

Especially in cases where the user uploads something or multiple steps are performed the cancle button should reset session variables and do some kind of cleanup.

I'd vote for making this a feature request.
