Summary | 0000542: certificate expire information on http://www.cacert.org/index.php?id=19 are wrong
Description | on this site you can read: " Assured client certificates Limitations: Certificates expire in 12 months. " Client certificates for assured people (>50 points) are valid for 24 months (not just 12). " Client certificates (un-assured) Limitations: Certificates expire in 12 months " I can't control this but I was told that these certificates are only valid for 6 months (not 12).

this patch changes the expire dates for * Client certificates (un-assured) from 12 to 6 months * Assured client certificates from 12 to 24 months this informations are accordingly to https://lists.cacert.org/cgi-bin/mailman/private/cacert-de/2008-April/000556.html (german) |

Note that the same bug concerning PGP signatures has not yet been fixed. They are valid for 12 months although they should be treated the same as client certificates (i.e. 24 months for assured users). Probably someone can code a patch for this... |

I don't know if we are speaking about the same thing. The page I reported to be wrong ( http://www.cacert.org/index.php?id=19 ) doesn't contain any informations about gpg/pgp. Maybe you could point me to the bugreport you mentioned. A patch to fix the informations given on the page (19.php) is already attached. |

Patch has been applied. Please test and close the bug. |
