This was on purpose because it was decided at that time that existing links shouldn't redirect to avoid accusations of malicious modifications. I would argue that this point is not valid any more and we could indeed redirect

    if id=8 block added (missing in this patch file)

both patches added to testserver should have 2 blocks added in index.php
