Summary | 0000024: 0000017: Find an Assurer List: Usage of First Name
Description | egarding: https://www.cacert.org/wot.php?id=1 Problem: The first name of every assurer is used to identify him/her. In non-english speaking countries (at least in Germany) its not common to address someone you don't know with his/her first name. It is widely accepted in internet-related areas and young businesses, but not in general. Solution: Leave the table head set to "name" and display "first-name last-name" in the column. That should be alright in every country add also give you a better idea of who your assurer is.

Many people with uncommon names expressed concern with having their names displayed, current practise to distinguish people is first name plus first letter of last name. Users are free to display their full names in the description fields, and any other personally identifable information, however I don't think it's a good idea to display full names if people aren't completely aware of the ramifications. |
