0000885: Polish national characters (and probably most others) cannot be entered in Real Name

Description

When trying to update my account data, one cannot enter most Polish national characters (and probably most others as well). I have tried ????????, when ó (which is quite common in other languages) work.

The application shows:
APPLICATION ERROR #401

Database query failed. Error received from database was #1267: Illegal mix of collations (latin1_swedish_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_general_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation '=' for the query: SELECT id
FROM mantis_user_table
WHERE username='Wac?aw Schiller'.
